Located in Plaza de Isabel II, overlooking the Teatro Real, the Ocean Drive Madrid hotel was built on the site once occupied by the 1920s Real Cinema, inaugurated by Alfonso XIII. The new building has successfully integrated into its surroundings with a completely contemporary architecture that is respectful of the surrounding buildings in its materials, eaves, and height, yet in keeping with the modern and contemporary nature of hotel use, as well as the character that the OD Hotels group is expanding throughout Spain and other countries after its initial development in the Balearic Islands and Barcelona. The 4-star hotel, with 72 spacious and bright rooms overlooking this very special urban space in the city, also has a lobby bar that houses a restaurant with an interior garden terrace that has managed to breathe life into the rear street of Costanilla de los Ángeles through its light, slatted façade architecture. The building is crowned by a carefully designed roof that connects the sloping zinc roofs with a spectacular pool-solarium with views of the plaza and Madrid’s rooftops.
