A comprehensive renovation project to transform a building with a unique history into a new short- and mid-term tourist and corporate accommodation space.
For decades, Santa Engracia 84 was a neighborhood cinema. Among seating tiers, an acoustic ceiling, and an old projection room, the building preserved part of its cinematic memory, including a film projector that is now part of the National Film Archive.
Years later, the property became the headquarters of the Taxi Drivers’ Association, housing offices, historical archives, and a large communications antenna on the rooftop, a technical and symbolic remnant of this second stage.
Today, the building begins a new life as a complex of 33 tourist and corporate accommodation units. The proposal integrates natural light, restored woodwork, a vertical garden, and contemporary design solutions that recover the building’s character and adapt it to a new use.
