What are cookies? What are cookies for? Why are they important?

A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded to the browser of your computer, mobile phone, tablet or any other internet-access devicewhen visiting a website.Cookies are used to recognize the device when you return to a site, enabling its use by reminding your preferences and browsing configuration (e.g. language, country, currency, access data, etc.).  They also facilitate specific functionalities (e.g.: showing ads related to the content of the websites you visit, avoid showing continuously any ads you have previously seen, etc.), and allow us to gather anonymous statistical information on the user’s browsing habits through our site.  Advertising cookies enable to manage advertising spaces, while behavioral advertising cookies store users’ behavioral information gathered through ongoing observation of their browsing habits, which enables to develop a specific profile to show advertising based on said information.

What do we use cookies for?

We use necessary cookies for the provision of certain services expressly requested by users (registration management, login, shopping cart data, information to identify possible free-of-charge payment services, etc.).  If these cookies are deactivated, some contents and services may not be properly received.  We also use analytical measurement cookies for site traffic statistical analysis, anonymous follow-up of the browsing behavior for a group of users, audience in specific areas or in case of a specific campaign, etc., and user browsing customization cookies (language, type of browser through which service is accessed, regional configuration from which service is accessed, etc.).  We also use advertising cookies for the management of advertising spaces based on specific criteria such as the frequency of visualization (to avoid showing you continuously any ads you have seen before), geographic location (to show ads that might be interesting for you based on proximity reasons), to show ads related to the content of the websites you visit (ads that might be interested for you based on topic reasons), to gather information on the results of advertising campaigns of our sites, etc.

– Measurement Cookies (statistical measurement): These third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Scorecardresearch, Twitter) allow us to quantify the number of visitors and statistically analyze the users’ browsing through our website, in order to improve our content, product or service offer.

– Ads Space Management Cookies. These are third-party cookies (Google DoubleClick and Google AdSense) which allow us to effectively manage ads space in our website, adjusting the content of the ad to the content of the visited site or requested service, as well as its frequency of visualization based on the user’s web use and browsing habits.

How to set up browsers to accept/block/delete cookies?

You can set up your internet browser to accept or block cookies, deletepreviously installed cookies, or set it up to automatically delete said cookies when closing the browser, equipment or device.  If blocked, it is possible that certain services needing the use of cookies stop working properly.  These adjustments are normally found in “Options” or “Preferences” of the main browser’s menu (for further information please refer to the Support site or the Help section of the relevant browser):
